    Titan America, LLC, has an opening for a ALTERNATIVE FUELS MANAGER in the Processed Engineered Fuel plant located in Medley, FL. This salary exempt position is assigned to the PEF plant and will report to the Director of Alternative Fuels.

     

    OVERVIEW:

    This position is responsible for the daily coordination of operational activities of the processed engineered fuel (PEF) facility to assure highest quality product delivered to the kiln. This includes daily management of operation including supervising operating personnel. Organizing production planning to ensure maximum efficiency while maintaining a “safety first” atmosphere.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for the safe operation of the PEF facility
    • Responsible to keep PEF facility in compliance with all permits
    • Responsible for the overall operation of the PEF facility
    • Coordination with logistics manager to be sure both Raw Materials and Fuel are delivered on time
    • Evaluate available feedstock materials and schedule raw materials to optimize operational and technical goals
    • Formulate, execute, and assess plant level operational plans to achieve safety, cost, production, maintenance and quality objectives. 
    • Utilize engineering knowledge to analyze and improve the production process.
    • Evaluate Waste Profile Data Sheets (WPDS) to ensure compliance with PEF facility operational and health, safety & Environmental standards
    • Lead and develop site workforce to meet desired requirements, continuously improve operations and promote personal development.
    • Develop and maintain strong partnership with host utility through in-depth understanding of electrical generation and distribution process.
    • Produce weekly, monthly and annual inspection/maintenance schedule and adhere to them.
    • Responsible for safety training of all employees and leading weekly safety meetings.
    • Ensure compliance regarding operations permit and contract standards relative to the use of PEF in cement production.

    Required Skills

    • Technical, mechanical and electrical knowledge to effectively troubleshoot plant issues.
    • Analytical and business acumen skill set to understand financial reports, prepare budget information, solve problems and analyze data.
    • Principles of continuous improvement, process control and quality control (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
    • Computer proficiency and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively lead plant operations.

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably technical engineering degree).
    • 4+ years progressive experience in plant operations with exposure to multiple business functions.
    • 2+ years management experience in shift work environment.
