    Job Description:

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Part-Time Laboratory Technician to support our laboratory operations. This entry-level position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional with a background in Biology or Biotechnology. The technician will carry out routine support tasks, assist with study preparations, and help maintain general laboratory upkeep. After completing on-the-job training, the technician will perform tasks independently and support scientists with study-related work, sampling, and in-process testing

    Responsibilities:

    • Wash laboratory glassware (manual soaking and operating glassware washers).
    • Calibrate pH and conductivity meters.
    • Prepare laboratory solutions and reagents.
    • Participate in laboratory safety audits.
    • Order and stock general laboratory supplies.
    • Perform inventory checks and routine cleanouts of freezers and cold rooms.
    • Handle package pick-up from shipping/receiving.
    • Package and autoclave laboratory parts and materials.
    • Review and maintain laboratory logbooks.
    • Support upkeep of laboratory instruments (e.g., NOVA FLEX2, pH/conductivity meters, ViCell, SoloVPE, AKTA Avant, HPLC).
    • Contribute to laboratory 6S (Sort, set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety) initiatives.
    • Coordinate equipment troubleshooting, repairs, and pipette calibrations.
    • Assist scientists with study work and routine laboratory assays.
    • Complete weekly housekeeping checklists.
    • Obtain quotes and lead times for materials from vendors.

    Requirements:

    • Background in Biology, Biotechnology, or related life sciences field.
    • Bachelor's degree in science (preferred but not required).
    • 0–3 years of laboratory experience in an academic or industry setting.
    • Familiarity with general laboratory practices and equipment.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to follow protocols and work both independently and as part of a team.
