Education/Experience/Licensure Education/Formal Training Work Experience Credential/Licensure REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED required. One (1) year of related work experience required. N/A PREFERRED: Graduate from an accredited program in Emergency Medical Services strongly preferred. Call center experience in a Healthcare environment strongly preferred. N/A SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED: N/A N/A N/A Knowledge/Skills/Abilities * Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written materials, such as patient records. * Ability to communicate verbally with all level of associates, management, physicians, patients and their families. * Ability to follow established procedures and regulations. * Ability to exercise independent judgement and initiative. * Basic knowledge of PC and radio communications hardware and dispatching software. Key Job Responsibilities * Prioritizes transportation requests according to the patients acuity to ensure that emergent transportation requests receive priority. * Documents any quality and service incidents concerning any problems that may occur in the course of a shift. * Maintains a basic understanding of insurance and issuing payment authorizations. * Performs other functions as needed. Physical Requirements * The ability to sit for long periods in a call center environment. * Must have good balance and coordination. * The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading. * Ability to react quickly and calmly to emergency situations.
