    The Accounts Payable Lead position is an integral part of the accounting team with responsibilities for ensuring accuracy, timeliness, correct coding and completeness of accounts payable payments. This position will also perform a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions in accordance with established procedures in the accounts payable function. The AP Lead will serve as a resource for other team members regarding accounts payable practices and policies as well as coding SME.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Inputs invoices into the accounting system
    • As assigned, reconciles and documents vendor accounts which include interacting with the vendor representation
    • Works with business leaders to identify correct cost center allocations and ensure invoices are in line with business
    • Coordinates new vendor onboarding with multiple departments to ensure risk is minimized
    • Cross-trains on all key responsibilities across accounts payable functions
    • Researches and trouble shoots AP questions or issues
    • Adhere to AP procedures and policies and acts as a resource for AP team members
    • Serve as a resource to staff by answering questions and assisting with the distribution of work
    • Performs all other related duties as assigned

  • Qualifications
    • High School diploma or GED equivalent and an Associate's degree in a related field required. (Two additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of an associate's degree)
    • Six or more years of accounting and/or finance related experience
    • Experience in account reconciliations
    • Strong knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word and Outlook
    • Ability to pay close attention to detail
    • Skill in data entry 10-key by touch
    • Highly organized and multi-task oriented person who can work independently
    • Ability to communicate with business contacts and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner even in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Healthcare finance experience
    • Associates' degree in Accounting or Finance
    • Experience overseeing the workload for management
