    Job Description

    LEGACY COMMUNITY HEALTH is a premium, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides comprehensive care to community members regardless of their ability to pay. Our goal is to treat the entire patient while improving their overall wellness and quality of life, in addition to providing free pregnancy tests, HIV/AIDS screening. At Legacy, we empower patients to lead better lives by promoting healthy behaviors and offering resources such as literacy classes, family planning services, and nutrition and weight management information.

    Our roots began in 1981 as the Montrose Clinic, with specialization in HIV education, testing, and treatment. Since then, the agency has expanded to 10 clinics in Houston, one in Baytown, two in Beaumont, and one in Deer Park with extensive services that include: Adult primary care, HIV/AIDS care, pediatrics, OB/GYN and maternity, dental, vision and behavioral health. We also service students within KIPP and YES Prep schools. Legacy is committed to driving healthy change in our communities.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The Recruiter acts as the primary link between Legacy’s hiring managers and potential job candidates. The Recruiter will be responsible for sourcing and reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and ensuring that hiring managers are provided with potential job candidates who will meet and fulfill the needs of Legacy and its organizational objectives.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Oversees the recruitment life-cycle process from candidate sourcing through the employment offer to ensure timely delivery of services both internally and externally
    • Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, , social media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits, making presentations to attract candidates; building and maintaining rapport with outside entities and contacts
    • Evaluates job description with hiring manager to ensure qualifications and requirements are accurate, as needed
    • Determines applicant requirements by studying job description and job qualifications
    • Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements
    • Evaluates applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers; interviewing applicants on a consistent set of qualifications
    • Improves organizational attractiveness by researching and recommending new recruitment practices and trends
    • Reviews candidate experience for compensation purposes and communicates results with hiring manager for internal equity purposes
    • Relays compensation and benefit offers and incentives to new hires
    • Oversees the School Affiliation Program and student internships by scheduling rotations and assignments, manages orientation dates, monitors internship time periods, and advises managers on training and coaching
    • Avoids legal challenges by understanding current EEO legislation, enforcing regulations with hiring managers to ensure equal employment opportunity
    • Stays abreast of current recruiting and sourcing trends by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
    • Accomplishes organizational and human resources objectives by completing assigned tasks, as needed
    • Utilizes an energetic, proactive creative approach in talent acquisition with excellent personal, organizational, and customer-service skills
    • Utilizes prior experience in the healthcare staffing industry or staffing business to source candidates who could meet and fill the need of the position
    • Develops, evaluates, or reviews plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities
    • May participate on other HR projects as required
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field strongly preferred
    • 5 years’ experience in HR specializing in Recruitment/talent acquisition preferred
    • Experience in healthcare recruitment, highly preferred

    WORK EXPERIENCE

    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in HR specializing in Recruitment/talent acquisition
    • Knowledge and deep understanding of Recruitment and Compensation practices
    • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize
