    Business Office Associate The Lexington Medical Center Physician Network includes more than 450 Physicians and advanced practice providers at 75 locations across the Midlands. Our Physician Network is home to our Resource Pool that contains various positions, providing employees the opportunity to work assignments in a number of our Physician Practices. Our practices vary from general medicine and orthopaedics to oncology and neurosurgery. Our Physician Network Resource Pool is recruiting for Business Office Associates! Do you enjoy meeting new people and adapt well to new environments? As a Business Office Associate in our Resource Pool, you will have the opportunity to work at various practices throughout Lexington Medical Center's Physician Network. Basic Functions: · Assists patients, visitors, providers and office staff in a courteous and friendly manner · Performs all duties efficiently and timely, while maintaining a positive patient flow · Serves as an office liaison when required · Provides front line duties and support in a physician practice/outpatient setting · Registers patients for office visits, collects payment for services rendered and completes all insurance billing and/or follow up on patient account · This position involves direct patient association: check in/check out, schedule office appointments, verify insurance, answer phones and entering patient data into computer. Minimum Qualifications: · High School diploma or equivalent · Minimum of one year experience in a related field that involves administrative support and customer service activities or successful completion of a Medical Office Administrative Assistant certificate program · General knowledge of medical ethics and confidentiality · Knowledge of medical terminology, medical insurance, ICD-9 and CPT coding preferred · Excellent communication skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks in a pressured environment · Proficient computer skills with emphasis on accuracy · Demonstrated ability to work with diverse population, handles stressful situations and critical thinking skills Preferred Qualifications: · Medical Terminology · 2+ years' experience in a medical setting, insurance environment, or related field Our mission is the same as it was when we opened our doors in 1971: to provide quality health services that meet the needs of our community.
