LifeWorks is searching for Youth Care Worker IIs who can demonstrate leadership skill, function independently, and take initiative working in a rewarding and challenging transitional housing environment with at-risk young adults in our new Permanency through Outreach and Rapid Transitions (PORT) Program! The PORT Program will be a 15-bed transitional housing program for youth and young adults ages 18-24 in Travis County. Clients will have a short-term stay while they transition from homelessness to permanent housing through our Rapid Rehousing program. The PORT Program is one of 3 programs being funded by HUD in a community wide effort to end youth homelessness in Austin, Texas and will launch in October 2018. The Youth Care Worker II will focus on developing and implementing independent living skills and planning ang coordinating activities for the program. There will also be the opportunity to learn supervisory skills, such as coaching and training staff as well as identifying areas of opportunity for the program and proposing solutions. All Youth Care Workers are responsible for monitoring, supervising, transporting, and meeting basic needs of youth in a way that positively supports their development as well as their individual goals.
