    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a PD-CT Technologist.

    In this role, the successful candidate Provides health care services, applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by; or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. The computed tomography technologist must demonstrate an understanding of human cross-section anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology and medical terminology. By performing all tasks in an efficient, responsible and caring manner, the employee will be dedicated to meet the needs of customers and staff. In doing so, will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care with respect to the special needs of each patient age group serviced as well as those persons with disabilities

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Operates CT equipment in accordance with State and Federal codes
    • Positions patient for proper orientation of anatomy.
    • Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self and others.
    • Evaluates images for technical quality.
    • Displays proper procedures for the preparing, labeling and dispensing of radiographic contrast media and the labeling of medications on the sterile field
    • Provides and Maintains patient care.
    • Operates functions of HIS/RIS and PACS in accordance with hospital and department policy.
    • Performs Daily Quality Assurance activity based upon established departmental protocol.
    • Demonstrates and Maintains a Professional Demeanor.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Current New York State licensure to practice Diagnostic Radiology
    • Certified by and Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). BLS required.
    • Completion of a two year approved ARRT school.
    • Completion of required CT specific CE credits

    Long Island Community Hospital provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $52.61 - $58.40 per hour. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

  • Qualifications
    • High School diploma / G.E.D. equivalent or currently enrolled in high school or GED Program.
    • Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts as required (day, evening, weekend, holiday).
    • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
    • Must be authorized or have the ability to obtain authorization to work in the UnitedStates.
