    Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. is seeking a Sales Engineer II in the greater New Jersey area to promote and sell Mitsubishi Electric Automation solutions throughout the region.

    SUMMARY

    Grow MEAU revenue and increase market share for all product categories including Services, Programmable Logic Controllers, Variable Frequency Drives, Servo & Motion Controller, CNC, Human Machine Interfaces, Robots, Data Acquisition Solutions, and Low Voltage Control Products. Support existing direct accounts while identifying and developing new customers to attain established sales and growth objectives.

    POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Prospect for potential customers through various direct and indirect methods.
    • Develop target account plans outlining sales strategy specific for each account.
    • Quickly establish relationships with target accounts and develop sales opportunities.
    • Drive entire sales process from initial customer engagement through customer purchase order.
    • Effectively manage and utilize all available resources when seeking solutions for a customer opportunity.
    • Conduct demonstrations, present technical information, and prepare proposals during sales process.
    • Work with Field Application Engineers to develop solutions that address customer needs.
    • Maintain a high level of machine automation knowledge in order to have meaningful conversations with targets and customers.
    • Qualify prospects against company provided criteria for ideal customers and sales.
    • Establish and maintain ongoing interdepartmental relationships and communications within MEAU.

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

    • 40%-60% travel based on customer demand within assigned region.

    ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
    • Minimum 7 years OEM sales experience, with 3+ years’ experience as a ‘hunter’
    • Minimum 5 years’ Application Solution Sales experience with End Users and OEM customers
    • Product knowledge/application experience in PLC, VFD, HMI, Servo/Motion products
    • Excellent track record developing large PLC, VFD, HMI, Servo/Motion OEMs
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Solid, proven leadership skills
    • Computer proficiency with MS Office components: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce for logging activities and tracking the sales process

    BENEFICIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Sales process training such as Wilson CSP or equivalent
    • Product knowledge/application experience with Services and CNC

    PHYSICAL, ENVIRONMENTAL, COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS

    • Must be physically able to travel, including the ability to sit for extended periods of time for the purposes of travel, operate a motor vehicle for both short and long distances and fly via commercial flights, both nationally and internationally as needed
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently for activities such as moving and setting up demos
    • Ability to communicate clearly and present to large groups effectively – in person and virtually
    • Ability to engage in social interactions with clients and colleagues and recognize social or professional behavioral cues

    The target base pay range for this position is $125-140k annually. The listed salary range is approximate and reflects the anticipated compensation for this position as determined by salary analysis; both internal and external to MEAU. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, skills and experience. Compensation may also vary due to market factors. MEAU retains the right to adjust compensation based on business needs.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience leading engineering or technical teams.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in the design or manufacturing of sheet metal fabrications.
    • Strong project management skills and experience.
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, develop, and hold team members accountable.
    • Must be able to accomplish work through other people and other functional departments.
    • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles.
    • Working knowledge of business enterprise software (ERP). Experience with IFS Applications preferred.
    • Experience with 3D CAD software. Creo or SolidWorks preferred.
    • Solid PC and software capabilities, including experience with Microsoft Office applications.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, record-keeping, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
    • Must be able to concurrently manage multiple projects under time restrictions with accurate and complete results.
    • High levels of understanding and respect for other company functions and the ability to work collaboratively and productively with them.
    • Understanding of Spacesaver business processes and capabilities preferred.
    • Travel up to 15% of the time.
