Physical Therapist Assistant
Job Description
The Physical Therapy Assistant will carry out physical therapy treatment plans for inpatients/residents and outpatients as directed by the Physical Therapist based on current principles and standards of practice, which may include assisting the Physical Therapist in the performance of selected assessment procedures such as ROM, girth, or wound measurements. The Physical Therapist Assistant will function as a multidisciplinary team member with other rehabilitation staff members and in interactions with other health care providers. Patients/residents served include all age groups (Infant through Adult-Geriatric), but primarily Adult-Geriatric.
Qualifications
AA degree in Physical Therapy required. Possesses current Maryland State license, or is eligible. Previous experience in an acute care setting is preferred. Current BLS certification or obtained prior to providing direct patient care. Previous experience using a business office suite, such as Microsoft Office, is required. Weekend Staff/Float Pool – 1 year of acute care experience is required.
