  • Responsibilities

    Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing CCSNC, the Driver is responsible for pick-up and delivery of residents and materials/equipment as assigned.

    EDUCATION:

     

    High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.

     

    WORK EXPERIENCE:

     

    Previous experience working with a geriatric population preferred.

    SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

     

     

    Clearances required: PA State Police criminal history check

    and PA Department of Aging FBI fingerprint clearance (if applicable).

    Valid PA driver's license required for driving van during residents' outings.

    Transports residents via Allied Van to and from medical appointments and related appointments.  

    Assists Scheduling Coordinator with input regarding daily runs.  

    Assists in transferring of residents from one surface to another during medical appointments when applicable.  

    Attends monthly department meetings and other in-services as designated.  

    Ensures that general maintenance of vehicle, i.e., vacuum, wash, schedule with garage for general maintenance check (oil, fluids, etc.) is being performed in cooperation with the Allied mechanic.  

    Picks up and delivers articles for the SNC as assigned including recreational equipment/supplies as necessary.

  • Qualifications
    1. Ability to carry/lift up to 75 lbs.
    2. Ability to maintain a consistent workload that involves heavy manual labor.
    3. Ability to maintain alertness and acuity that is not typically impaired by any medication, diet, or physical condition.
    4. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, sit and maneuver in confined spaces.
    5. Ability to wear respirators in environments that may expose you to chemicals, fumes, etc.
    6. Ability to maintain workloads that may include travel to a variety of states for days or weeks, and daily timeframes that could exceed the typical 8-hour shift.
