And you'll do your life's best work.(sm)   The X-Ray Tech will perform radiological duties in compliance with X-Ray department and legal requirements. Help patients (claimants) feel comfortable during the entire process. These duties are delegated in relation to the individual's degree of training, in accordance with the objectives and policies of the organization and respective state laws governing such action and activities. Medical Assisting is to provide service, Information, and assistance to claimants and physicians to ensure effective operation of MSLA clinics.   Primary Responsibilities: Prepare claimants for radiological procedures and take X-rays following established procedures for claimant evaluation and safety, Prepare patients for examination and assist the doctor if required Protect claimants, yourself and staff from radiation exposure by practicing sound procedures which meet or exceed recommended industry standards Develop and process radiological film Obtain quality diagnostic radiographs as requested by physicians, social security, and Veteran Affairs. Maintain a repeat rate of two percent or less Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations Immediately report any equipment issues or malfunctions to Supervisor Log all completed radiological procedure. Complete paperwork accurately and on time Keep working areas clean and organized. Make sure rooms and cabinets are fully stocked with supplies Other duties include but are not limited to front office and back office medical assisting duties such as: Taking patient histories and vitals, performing electrocardiogram tests, assisting the physician with spirometry tests, and performing lab work Work closely with the physician to receive guidance and instructions on any needed radiology studies Maintain patient medical records Perform Dx testing, EKG’s, PFT’s, ABI/Dopplers Assist physician(s) during examinations Collect laboratory specimens Take patient vitals Take inventory Disinfect medical equipment Provide customer service Prepare patient charts  Update patient charts, including missing medical records Obtain authorization for ordered procedures Answer telephones Submit medical charts to MSLA corporate office All other duties assigned by Management Required Qualifications:                                             High school diploma or equivalent Completion of limited scope/basic/LMRT/NVT radiological course California certification Current BLS Medical Assistant certification CPR & First Aid certification Preferred Qualifications: CRT/AART Able to follow routine procedures consistently and efficiently Able to work independently, and in conjunction with team members at all levels of the organization Able to understand instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Excellent verbal and written communication skills Detail-oriented, organized and adaptable Able to consistently follow through Self-motivated Proficient in general computer use and Microsoft Office Suite Careers with MSLA.
