Job Description
A clinically competent team member who is responsible to direct and coordinate activities related to the preparation, distribution and control of sterile/non-sterile supplies, equipment and instrumentation. This individual is responsible for management, hiring, training, education and evaluation of the departments Team Members. This individual will be the Clinical liaison between Medical, Nursing and Administration related to decontamination, sterilization and storage of medical/surgical supplies, devices and instrumentation. They will serve as a resource for the Infection Control committee. Additional responsibilities include: coordination of purchases and repairs to maintain instrumentation inventory, assistance in annual budgetary development and monthly budget compliance, and performing monthly payroll.
Qualifications
Education & Training:
-Bachelor’s Degree in health care related discipline or applicable experience preferred
-Certified in Sterile Processing from a recognized association including but not limited to; International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) or National Institute for the Certification of Healthcare Sterile Processing and Distribution Personnel (NICHSPDP).
(Surgical Technologist, LPN or RN may be considered if CSST certification is obtained within 1 year of hire).
-Five (5) years experience in Central Sterile Processing or as a Surgical Technologist or OR Nurse.
-A minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience is required. Recent management experience or experience in a leadership role preferred.
