    We are searching for the best talent for a **Manager, Health Economics & Market Access – Orthopedics, to be based in West Chester, PA. **

    Purpose: The Manager, Health Economics & Market Access – Orthopedics will support the Trauma & Extremities, Foot & Ankle, Sports Medicine and Biomaterials business objectives of the global franchise with responsibility for specific platforms. The Manager will ensure market access requirements are understood and built into the product pipeline through Target Product Profiles and Value Propositions that reflect the needs of non-clinical stakeholders, generate evidence through research and produce claims and external collateral demonstrating differentiated value that supports the commercial success of the business.

    Specific research activities conducted may include but are not limited to burden of illness, retrospective database studies, creation of global economic models and value messaging, patient reported outcomes development and analysis, interpretation of economic, satisfaction and QOL endpoints and results. Market access activities include but are not limited to producing procedure specific reimbursement analyses to inform product price, assessing market access needs and executing market access strategies to optimize market penetration and commercial success.

    This position reports to the Director, Health Economics & Market Access and will work in close collaboration with multiple internal partners and stakeholders, including but not limited to Marketing, R&D, Clinical and Medical Affairs and Regulatory Affairs.

    You will be responsible for :

    • Accountable for executing portions of the overall strategy set forward by the Director, which has been aligned to the business objectives of the overall Trauma & Extremities, Foot & Ankle, Sports Medicine and Biomaterials businesses.

    • Execution of evidence development /dissemination and execution of global market access strategies in support of the Business Unit and/or Platform objectives.

    • Successful candidate will collaborate closely with multiple cross functional partners, which may include R&D, Marketing, Market Access, Medical and Clinical Affairs, Regional HEMA & Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Legal and Global Pricing.

    • Contributes to Target Product Profiles, Economic Value Propositions and Evidence Generation Strategy & Plan for products within the portfolio.

    • Enables market access and commercial success by reflecting the needs of non-clinical stakeholders into lifecycle evidence of value and market access strategies for business unit.

    • The role does not include direct people management responsibilities.

    Qualifications / Requirements:

    Education

    • Baccalaureate degree in health sciences related field.
    • Certificate in Public Health and/or advanced degree (MS, MPH, PhD, MHA, MBA) in health economics, outcomes research or healthcare related field is preferred.

    Experience

    • Minimum 3 to 5 or more years-experience in healthcare industry.
    • Ideal candidates must possess the ability to work from strategy development through to execution and value creation in a dynamic organization.
    • Experience in health services research, health economics, outcomes research, market access, health policy and/or reimbursement is preferred
    • Experience developing market access assessments and evidence generation strategies is preferred
    • Cross sector and global health care systems experiences is preferred.
    • Experience working in a national or international health care organization is preferred.
    • Experience working directly in or supporting the orthopedic industry is preferred.
    • 10% travel, domestic and potentially international.

    Functional and Technical Competencies

    • HEALTHCARE ENVIRONMENT ACUMEN – Knowledge of global evidence requirements that impact reimbursement and market access. In depth understanding of global medical delivery systems, reimbursement, market access conditions and health policy trends in major markets (both US and oUS).

    • BUSINESS ACUMEN - The ability to learn and apply an understanding of the JJ Medical Device portfolio of products, services, and therapeutic areas, develop economic claims, and generate evidence in support of products both pre-market and post-market.

    • ANALYTICAL SKILLS - Health services research, health economics, outcomes research, market access, health policy and reimbursement. Ability to analyze coding, coverage, reimbursement and HTA policy worldwide.

    Leadership Competencies

    • COMMUNICATION & PRESENTATION – Excellent communication skills and ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels in the organization and with external customers. Advanced written & verbal skill set required. The ability to clearly and appropriately convey and present information and ideas in an effective and impactful manner.

    • STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT - The ability to understand the expectations, future needs, and motivations of external and internal stakeholders. Consults with stakeholders to deliver solutions that address mutual strategic priorities and bring value and tangible results to all parties. Leverages knowledge and experience to drive strategy in a compliant manner while balancing stakeholder and organizational needs.

    • MATRIX ENVIRONMENT - Effectively work in a matrix environment and demonstrate influence capabilities. Experience working in decentralized and cross-functional business models.

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

    $115,000 - $197,800

    Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

    The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
