    Purpose: This exciting role provides a significant opportunity to help improve our overall R&D strategy and execution effectiveness! In this role, you will develop and build analytical tools and reports that can be utilized in consistent operating mechanisms across platforms in order to inform critical data-driven strategic and execution management decisions. In Orthopaedics R&D you will manage diverse groups of data covering various platforms, cross-functions, projects/programs, and time points with many different attributes, including everything from financial model data to project KPIs, pictures, strategic project information, demand vs. capacity data, capabilities, status updates, and project planning information. You will support many different stakeholders at the project, program, platform, and business unit level crossing various matrixed functions who require tailored reporting mechanisms for data visualization to support various audiences and the corresponding forums where our portfolio data is utilized.

    You will be responsible for:

    • Lead R&D Portfolio data management strategy for J&J Orthopedics.

    • Develop and deploy data analytics tools and reports for J&J Orthopaedics, including tools for running long range demand vs. capacity scenarios, return on investment and profitability scenarios, as well as weekly/monthly project/portfolio status reports for various audiences with the right mix of key information and appropriate visualization design, depending on the user and forum.

    • Manage governance and security including user access requests, approvals.

    • Own consistent data refreshes to ensure accurate up-to-date information is available and send communication to solution users.

    • Lead custom database creation through blending of multiple data sources. Work with IT and other development teams to ensure effective data integration.

    • Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.

    • Automate processes and tasks to improve workflow efficiencies.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Business Finance or related STEM discipline required. MBA preferred.

    • Demonstrable ability to synthesize data, interpret data, and process observations into meaningful recommendations. Business Finance background preferred.

    • Demonstrated Expertise in ETL using Alteryx Designer and (or) SQL required.

    • Demonstrated Expertise in data visualization tools - Tableau, Smartsheet, & Power BI experience required.

    • Outstanding proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.

    • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure is a plus.

    • Demonstrated experience in Python is a plus.

    • Proven knowledge/use of the latest analytical models and tools.

    • Proficiency in Good Data Practices and database design, management, & maintenance.

    • Demonstrable ability to work closely with colleagues across functions to deliver results.

    • Highly effective communication skills to manage a large array of stakeholders.

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

    $115,000-$195,000

    Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees and/or eligible dependents are eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
