Position Overview
The Manufacturing Technician performs complex or specialized technical assignments, often project-based, requiring the ability to work independently. This role may involve designing, developing, maintaining or modifying manufacturing equipment, materials, systems and products. The technician uses sound judgment, a high degree of initiative, creativity in solving, and must adapt to rapidly shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Manufacturing Technician sets up and maintains equipment to required standards and makes recommendations for continuous improvement of manufacturing methods in partnership with Manufacturing Engineering.
Essential Job Functions
Supports development and manufacturing teams by testing specific aspects of products, processes, or equipment to meet defined requirements and timelines.
Troubleshoots and resolves equipment issues requiring hands-on experience and technical interpretation of procedures and practices.
Masters the processes and procedures used to build company products, and is qualified to train new employees (including assemblers, technicians, engineers).
Demonstrates ingenuity, creativity and a high degree of independent action and initiative.
Communicates effectively with team members and multi-functional partners to ensure the highest quality products, processes, or equipment to meet identified needs.
Supplies ideas and solutions to improve processes and equipment.
Analyzes data to identify trends and isolate cause-effect relationships; reports findings and presents progress and plans to engineers and/or management.
Provides support data for Engineers during qualification and validation studies.
Plans and organizes project assignments of substantial variety and complexity; initiates or maintains work schedules and project milestones; establishes priorities.
Facilitates meetings and training sessions on procedures and processes for all levels of technical personnel, including engineers.
Must be available to support production on Saturdays, as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High School Diploma required with a minimum of 1 year experience as a manufacturing technician (or relevant experience) in the medical device industry or with 3 years’ other relevant hands on medical device experience.
Must be able to work 2nd shift hours (2:45 pm - 11:15 pm) and overtime as needed to meet business needs.
Knowledge of and compliance with applicable Quality System requirements such as QSRs, FDA, ISO, MDD and other relevant regulations.
Understanding of and experience with 5S, Lean, and waste reduction in manufacturing.
Experience in equipment preventive maintenance and/or calibration is a plus.
Knowledge of PLC’s, pneumatic systems, and electrical systems.
Experience in manufacturing processes, systems, and process/product development.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively, showing flexibility to adapt to changing requirements. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour workday)
May be required to lift objects up to 25lbs or more.
Must be able to work in an air-conditioned office as well as a non-temperature controlled warehouse environment as needed.

Additional Information:
The anticipated base pay for this position is $39,100-$69,000 annually.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
