    THIS FULL TIME INTERN POSITION WILL BE AVAILABLE SUMMER 2020

    WE ARE RECRUITING FOR A VARIETY OF DIFFERENT MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS POSITIONS IN EACH OF THE FOLLOWING TEAMS WITHIN MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS. RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    BRAND AND EVENT MARKETING:

    • Support messaging and project execution related to brand initiatives
    • Support the development of corporate brand content such as the Optum Story
    • Support event plan development and execution

    DIGITAL & MARKETING OPERATIONS

    • Assist on the design and execution of email marketing campaigns and webinars
    • Conduct statistical analysis and data visualization of marketing campaign results
    • Conduct cost benefit analysis and ROI model development on marketing technology stack
    • Provide analysis of owned and operated websites and social media content

    PRODUCT MARKETING:

    • Conduct research on industry trends, competitive intelligence, and market data to compile assessments of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) for existing product capabilities
    • Help refine messaging and positioning for specific solution to effectively communicate strengths and create market differentiation, includes assisting with collateral development and website representation
    • Assist product management efforts with input on market opportunities and needs, pricing considerations, and go-to-market plans

    INTEGRATED MARKETING:

    • Define value chain for specific target personas or segments
    • Aid in the design of a marketing mix that precisely matches the expectations of customers in the targeted segment
    • Help our internal client management and business development teams with large customers, prospects, consultants and business groups
    • Work closely with internal teams as well as external vendors on planning and execution of consumer marketing initiatives
    • Provide graphic design and copywriting support for a variety of internal and external marketing activities including events

    MARKET RESEARCH AND COMPETITIVE INTELLIGENCE

    • Research industry and competitive trends to inform product and marketing strategies
    • Conduct secondary research and competitive intelligence analysis

    INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS

    • Deliver media monitoring reports to understand how the business is being represented in the media to drive external communications agenda
    • Conduct social listening research to inform competitive intelligence for product marketing
  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business or another related field from an accredited college / university during the duration of the internship. Internships are not intended for graduating seniors
    • Minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA
    • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Creative, analytical thinker with strong problem solving skills
    • Experience working with Adobe Suite
