    Position Summary

    We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Materials / Purchasing Assistant. The Assistant works in the Materials / Purchasing department with the Materials Manager and team. The Assistant helps when and where needed to ensure the Medical Center and WERC (Wellness, Education, Resource Center) buildings have the needed equipment, stock and supplies to operate.

    Responsibilities and Primary Duties

    • Morning / Afternoon mail - meter all outgoing mail / packages and take to post office.
    • Retrieve incoming mail from post office. Stamp all mail "Received" with the current date and deliver to proper in hour mail boxes. Deliver packages to the correct / intended department.
    • Receive, sticker, and put away new stock when it comes in using departments proper procedures.
    • Input outdates on an Excel spreadsheet when received.
    • Deliver and put away items ordered by departments.
    • Expense items to the correct departments and when taken from inventory daily.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education amp; Experience. High school diploma or GED required. Some college coursework or work experience in inventory, receiving or distribution preferred. Must be proficient in basic computer use.

    Position Requirements

    • Must be physically able to perform the required lifting, bending and stooping. The Assistant position is physically demanding and requires walking throughout the facilities - main site and at the WERC building.
    • Must be able to stock shelves and arrange items according to proper expiration and outdate procedures.
    • Must be ablet to lift 50 pounds.
    • Must possess a valid driver's license, be able to drive a vehicle, and collect mail.

    Must be able to pass

    • A background check through a third-party company.
    • A state of Alaska Background Check.
    • A drug screen (to include Marijuana).
