    Job Description:

    Johnson & Johnson is hiring for a Materials Specialist I to join our team located in Santa Clara, CA.

    Fueled by innovation at the intersection of biology and technology, we’re developing the next generation of smarter, less invasive, more personalized treatments. Ready to join a team that’s pioneering the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) to treat complex calcified cardiovascular disease. Our Shockwave Medical portfolio aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.

    Position Overview

    As a Material Specialist I ensure orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product final distribution. Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Receiving and Receiving Inspection
    * Processes received materials and products in Oracle according to documented procedures.
    
    * Processes purchase order receipt, work order component issue and work order receipt in Oracle for sub-contract purchased items.
    
    * Distributes the received materials to the appropriate location. (IQC/purchase requestor)
    
    * Assists Incoming Quality Control (IQC) personnel with inspection/disposition of receipts.
    
    * Works with Finance/Accounts Payable to ensure documentation is complete.
    
    * Files POs/Receipts and audits POs/Receipts for compliance to documented procedures.
    
    • Inventory Control and Subassembly Production
    * Organizes/maintains stockroom and other locations under supervision of manager/supervisor.
    
    * Performs materials transactions in Oracle and records/updates inventory files according to procedures.
    
    * Assists and advises manager/supervisor with coordination and disposition of non-conforming materials. 
    
    * Performs cycle-counts of materials locations, records results, and/or reports to manager/supervisor.
    
    * Ensures that components, supplies, labels, subassemblies, and/or products are labeled correctly before being dispensed/distributed. 
    
    * Ensures that CER (Clean Environmental Room) is sufficiently supplied with required components and that Kanban is filled and maintained consistently.
    
    * Packaging and Shipping
    
    * Prepares shipments according to documented Shipping Request forms.
    
    * Processes international shipments of finished products to offsite clinical and commercial locations.

    Requirements

    • High school diploma with 0 - 2 years of materials and/or manufacturing-related experience is preferred.

    • Experience with Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet/database software is required.

    • Ability to utilize both manual and integrated software ERP systems. Oracle experience is highly preferred.

    • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions (e.g., safety manuals, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) & WIs (Work Instructions)) is required.

    • Operate as a team and/or independently while demonstrating flexibility to changing requirements is preferred.

    • There may be continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8-hour day).

    • Employees are required to lift objects up to 25lbs or more.

    • Good organizational skills, attention to details, and follow-through skills are preferred.

    • Good verbal and written communication skills are preferred.

    • Basic mathematical skills are required.

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities is preferred.

    Additional Information:

    • The anticipated hourly range for this position is $18.80-$29.88

    • The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

    • Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.

    • Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

    • Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

      • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year

      • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year

      • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year

      • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
