Job Summary:
The Neuromodulation Coordinator collaborates with the health care team to provide patient care while maintaining high quality operations of the facilities. This position is designed to support the clinic’s nursing team by providing administrative and patient care services, with a focus on improving patient experiences and outcomes. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and able to work collaboratively with the healthcare team to support our patients’ care journey. Essential functions of the Neuromodulation Coordinator position include, but are not limited to:
- Direct contact with patients, both in-person and via telephone.
- Schedules patient appointments related to implanted neuromodulation devices, ensuring patients are compliant with following-up as needed.
- Neurostimulation Patient Management:
- Daily coordination with neurostimulation team.
- Manages prospective and current neurostimulation patients, including coordination of education visits, routine device reprogramming visits, post procedure visits, post-surgical visits, follow-up wound care visits, x-ray lead check visits, and post-operative physical therapy visits.
- Coordinates with Clinical Device Representatives.
- Assists clinical team with patient tracking.
- General coordination between departments.
- Intrathecal Pump Patient Management:
- Daily coordination with intrathecal pump team.
- Tracks intrathecal pump patients alarm date, estimated replacement interval, need for follow up, annual pump patient agreements, and need for routine drug testing.
- Updates tracking logs.
- Reviews patient charts to ensure required pump refill order has been placed.
- Pends intrathecal medication prescriptions for provider to review and sign off.
- Assists with coordination of home pump refills.
- Medical Assistant Coverage:
- Provides front desk and Medical Assistant coverage for our Chaska clinic location on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Greets patients, verifies their identity, and ensures accurate demographic information is recorded.
- Assists patients with completion of necessary paperwork (e.g., consent forms and medical history forms) and documentation.
- Updates and maintains patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Complies with organizational and HIPAA policies and regulations to ensure patient care is kept confidential.
- Rooms patients in a prompt, friendly, and professional manner to prepare them for their visit.
- Performs clinical intake interview with patients to include health history, allergies, and reconciling medication lists. Obtains vital signs as needed. Accurately updates patient’s electronic medical record.
- Completes narcotic counts.
- Assists patients as needed with escorting their belongings, walking, and transfers.
- Orders lab tests under the direction of the provider and per company protocol.
- Obtains limited lab specimens such as urine, saliva, and nasal swab collection.
- Prepares lab samples for transport.
- Ensures proper storage of biohazardous materials.
- Cleans exam rooms and supplies between patient visits to maintain infection control.
- Generates patient informed consent forms, reviews forms with patient, obtains patient signed consent, and prepares injectable medications.
- Manages inventory and stock medications and supplies; assists with packing, stocking, and transport of supplies within the clinic.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
- Complies with organizational and HIPAA policies and regulations to ensure patient care is kept confidential.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required. Post-secondary education preferred.
- Minimum of one year of healthcare experience required.
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to be detail oriented while multi-tasking and managing priorities.
- Organizational skills with focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow.
- Able to work in a fast-paced work environment and efficiently handle daily fluctuation of patient volume.
- Capable to work independently or as part of a team with the ability to be self-motivated.
- Able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Skilled to follow oral and written instructions.
- Strong computer skills.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a clinic setting. Travel to satellite clinics on a rotating schedule is required. This position is 100% in-office due to the nature of the duties and responsibilities.

Compensation & Work Schedule:
- Full-time: 40 hours/week.
- Non-Exempt.
- Day Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM.
- No evenings or weekends.
