SUMMARY
The Receptionist will care for patients presenting to the clinic desk and on the phone in a professional and courteous manner. The receptionist is responsible for registering patients. Verifying insurance, processing insurance referrals, faxing, copying, answering high volume of phone calls, assisting providers and other general office duties. In addition, other job assignments as directed.
Responsible for obtaining accurate demographic and insurance information.
Also, verification of insurance benefits, calculation of patient financial responsibility, identifying need for authorization for services, interpretation of benefits and collection of monies. Complete and distribute all relevant documents, including medical records, as set forth by department policies. Collection of patient coinsurance. Assist with all registration processes to ensure a non-stressful experience. Direct patients and visitors to proper resource. Work with other departments of the hospital to enhance patient experience. Work independently on projects. Attends meeting as assigned, performs other job duties as assigned. The employee working in this job position must attend all patient access meetings as directed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
