Under limited supervision, the Supply Chain Quality Coordinator facilitates, troubleshoots and guides appropriate pharmaceutical procurement practices within MUSC to minimize cost, reduce waste, increase accuracy, and improve safety through the pharmacy distribution process. This role evaluates and audits: medication/device contracts, contract price compliance, 340B usage/buying practices, MUHA and MUHA contract pharmacy compliance. This position assists the Distribution Center Coordinator and Pharmacy Supply Chain Manager in working with the pharmacy business office, 340B analysts, third-party vendors and wholesalers to establish the best pricing, distribution and documentation practices for the procurement of pharmaceuticals. Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Hospital/Health Administration, Business Administration, Planning, Statistics, Health Information Management, Health Informatics or other related field with a Master's degree (e.g., MS, MHA, MBA) and two years of significant financial work experience preferably in a healthcare setting required. Familiarity with contract and project management as well as 340B program legislation strongly preferred. Pharmacy experience is preferred but not required. Candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Computer/internet skills to include use of MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.) is required. Demonstrated ability to present complex financial and cost information to a clinical audience and/or senior leadership preferred. Demonstrated familiarity with hospital administrative data and electronic health records preferred. Strong interpersonal; client relations; fact finding; analytical; project management; presentation; and communication (written/verbal) skills are needed.
