POSITION SUMMARY:

Vallen's Fluids & Lubricants Technician works as part of an onsite team of 3 individuals optimizing the customer process related to metalworking fluids & lubricants. They are tasked working together as a team with delivering consistency in process controls on a daily basis that lead to cost savings at customer location. Success in this position is geared towards future career opportunities within Vallen Metalworking Solutions & Services team.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Check fluid reservoir levels and measure fluid concentrations in machinery and/or sumps.
• Add fluids in the correct ratios to sump and/or machinery as required (e.g., product coolant, water, lubricant, etc.).
• Record data for each sump and/or machinery.
• Support change-out of metalworking fluid systems under customer direction.
• Clean sump screens.
• Change filters.
• Remove chips.
• Operate forklift to move product following customer and Vallen’s safety procedures.
• Monitor fluid inventory levels and report when inventory is low.
• Conduct lubricant/coolant lab checks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent; directly applicable experience may be substituted.
• CNC machinery experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Accurately read and understand measurement devices.

• Work is in a manufacturing environment and will have exposure to dirt, smoke, heat, cold, etc.
• Safety protection is required while performing job duties (hand, foot, and eye).
• Overtime hours may be required with little advanced notice.
• While performing the duties of this job, associates are required to:
  • Stand on a concrete surface for at least 8 hours a day
  • Lift and move up to 50 lbs
  • Operate various forms of hand-held and manually operated power tools and measuring devices
  • Vision abilities are required by this job
