STATUS: Part-Time

SCHEDULE: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., 1 day a week with Evenings and Weekends as needed

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

Food Service Utility Associates at Memorial will assist in a variety of areas within the Food and Nutrition Department. They will typically assist in the room service capacity. Assisting with room service involves assembling and delivering trays to patients, delivering snacks and assisting in the dish room with clean up.

Once the employee is trained in room service, he or she will be trained in areas such as cold food production, catering, the call center and the Food for Thought Café.

Requirements for this position include:

• High school education or GED preferred
• One or more years of experience in food service preferred
• Service oriented, one-year experience customer service experience preferred
• Knowledge of principles of food sanitation, health hazards, and the necessary precautionary measures
• Ability to push, pull, and transport up to 30 lbs. and stand/walk for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to multi-task while working on multiple responsibilities simultaneously
• Interpersonal skills to interact with co-workers, medical staff, patients, team leaders and management
• Ability to read and write, follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to work as a team member
• Demonstrates excellent oral communication and customer relations skills
