    Graphic Packaging has an exciting summer internship opportunity in our Graphic Services department. The Graphic Coordinator internship will run from May through August 2022 and be a vital asset to our GPI team.

    MISSION

    The objectives of the Graphic Coordinator Intern are to learn the graphic services processes, expand personal learning, understand the offerings of GPI across the industry and contribute to the graphics production team. Daily tasks include handling of incoming materials, inspection, processing and shipment of production materials and interfacing with customers’ artwork and projects. Activities include communication across all GPI business units and suppliers, in order to meet the graphic specifications required by customers. Daily tasks center on providing order management, graphic file prep, layout creation, proof inspection and job assembly. The ability to work well in a team environment and build strong working relationships are vital to the success of this role.

     

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following.

    ACT AS LIAISON AMONG GPI, CUSTOMERS AND SEPARATORS IN A GRAPHICAL CAPACITY

    • Communicate directly with customers and suppliers to ensure required graphical specifications are honored
    • Communicate directly with plants and coworkers to ensure that materials are properly prepared, staged and readied for print production
    • Maintain and update all corporate and department material databases

    PERFORM JOB PRE-PRODUCTION REVIEWS AND OBTAIN APPROVED GRAPHICS MATERIALS

    • Analyze graphic prepress materials and communicate with customers and suppliers regarding adjustments and approvals
    • Secure quotations and direct work through Sales &Operations Support channels when sourcing prepress on behalf of GPI customers
    • Follow up with customers, suppliers and GPI resources working towards continuous improvement of processes and specifications

    TACTICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manage and generate ink requests and color matches using ColorMap ink system
    • Acquire Graphics Requests through Customer Service for graphics related tasks
    • Support Graphic Coordinators and all coworkers with proven best practices related to print improvement, quality and consistency
    • Filing, cleaning and general maintenance of all department systems and equipment
    • Other duties as assigned

    Required Experience

    EDUCATION

    Minimum AS degree or certificate program candidate or equivalent work experience

    TECHNICAL

    Demonstrated functional/technical computer knowledge and skills to perform tasks

    Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe graphics software applications

    Understanding the print processes and knowledge of color management approaches

    PHYSICAL

    Must have the ability to lift and carry packages and graphic arts supplies (up to 25 lbs.)

    Must have good color vision
