Job Description At the Bobst International Center, our goal is to support international patients seeking clinical care at MSKCC. Our team acts as the liaison between international patients and the center to assist with arrangements related to visiting NY from afar, coordination of care at the center until the transition of care back to patients local treating physician. T he International Center is seeking a Guest Service Receptionist . You will: Greet arriving visitors and direct flow throughout the International Center. Answer telephone calls and responds to a large number of e-mail inquiries Initiate the medical summary review process for patients interested in receiving services at MSKCC: including collecting and organizing medical reports, and (in some instances) create a medical record number, and once prepared, forward the case to the Guest Service Assistant Triage calls and take complete and accurate messages Document notes in MSK systems as needed Distribute incoming pathology material and outside mail. Return pathology and radiology materials to the patient after the patient completes their visit Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: greeting and logging in visitors, advising Guest Services staff of arrivals, directing visitors throughout the Center, circulating throughout the visitor lounge to monitor visitor flow, ensure visitors are comfortable, and the lobby area is kept tidy, monitor deliveries and pick-ups both to and from the International Center and accept visitor mail/deliveries/messages Work: Hours: 7:30 am 3:30 pm (with some flexibility) You Are: Sensitive to different cultures and the needs of foreign visitors Capable of building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions Flexible in your approach and demeanor to align with the shifting demands of evolving circumstances Able to hold yourself and others accountable to achieve goals and live up to commitments A good decision-maker, with proven success at making timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward Able to operate effectively, even when things are not clear, or the way forward is not obvious Adept at creating partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives and goals You have: Associates degree plus one year of experience required or equivalent combination BA/BS preferred Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite and databases Strong customer service skills with experience in client-service setting preferred Ability to work a flexible schedule; ability to work overtime if required Ability to collaborate as a member of a highly interactive team Fluency in a foreign language preferred #LI-SB1 Closing MSK is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer committed to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of recruiting and employment.
