    Marketing Communications Specialist The Mental Health Center of Denver - Aurora, CO 80012 $45,000 a year Post by Jobing - Job Description Position Summary: This position provides broad support for the day-to-day marketing operations of the organization including internal and external communications, website and e-communications, social media, marketing campaigns, market research and more. The right candidate will have strong interviewing, writing and editing skills to help tell the story of Mental Health Center of Denver through various communication tactics. As a member of the Development Office, the marketing communications specialist will play an integral role in positioning and promoting the Mental Health Center of Denver's voice through traditional and social channels. Working directly with the Director of Marketing and Communications, this position will ensure messages are consistent with the overall brand and meet organizational standards. Essential Job Functions: Working with minimal supervision, the marketing communications specialist is responsible for supporting the Director of Marketing and Communications and the Development Office in a professional and timely manner. * Provide communications support to clearly and visually articulate the Mental Health Center of Denver brand * Collect and write compelling, concise stories to articulate the brand as part of content development for internal and external audiences * Assist in planning, development and publication of internal and external communications (e.g., newsletters, press releases, brochures, website content, and presentations) * Write and edit copy for brochures, fliers, newsletters, website, social media, emails and other collateral materials * Support marketing related communication needs of designated business groups and departments. Build relationships with key customers and provide consultation. * Review analytics of communications initiatives and make recommendations for improvement * Interface with vendors to coordinate timelines, delivery schedules and proof/approve materials. * Aid in development and management of editorial calendar, social media marketing, public relations initiatives as well as assist in website maintenance * Contribute to an organizational culture of respect, hope and personal accountability regarding diversity and inclusiveness * Stay current with industry practices on marketing communications using knowledge to impact communication tactics SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES: * Collaborative, team player who is able to gather, understand and synthesize information * Excellent storyteller and able to tell sensitive stories in a compelling way * Understanding of branding and managing assets to brand standards * Experience in content development and dissemination across multiple platforms * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Ability to develop compelling collateral materials that are consistent with brand standards * Highly organized and able to handle multiple priorities at any given point with competing deadlines * Creative and innovative thinker with the ability to generate ideas that inspire new directions * Develops and maintains effective relationships with a broad group of stakeholders in order to foster trust and partnership * Ability to multi-task and provide outstanding client service * Able to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive data at all times * Ability to build meaningful partnerships with our consumers, our colleagues, and our community in a society that is progressively more multicultural Job Requirements: * Understanding of marketing and communication practices and brand standards * Copywriting and proofing proficiency * Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and working knowledge of Adobe Suite products a plus * Working knowledge of social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. * Marketing experience at a non-profit, human services organization preferred * Demonstrated ability to work with people from all walks of life Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, or related field Experience: 2-3 years of experience in a Marketing Communications role SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Computers, calculators, fax machines, scanners, copiers, telephone and a variety of other office/clerical equipment. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone and other office equipment. Typical Mental Demands: Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans.
