Provides all credentialing and re-credentialing operations for the Northern Market as well as all the privileging functions to ensure patient safety. Assures credentialing/privileging services meet all Joint Commission, state and federal requirements for quality, competence and timeliness. Interprets and ensures compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations, policies and procedures. Works closely with regional management, staff and providers to facilitate priorities and meet target credentialing deadlines supporting the Ministry. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for market wide centralized Credentialing operations, including 7 hospitals, clinics and practices for the northern market. Processes initial applications and re-applications for all Medical Staff and Allied Health Professionals ensuring timely data collection, verifications and analytical assessment of documentation prior to credentialing submissions. Assures compliance with regulatory agencies, Medical Staff Bylaws, rules, regulations, and hospital policies for each of the 7 hospitals. Responsible for market wide centralized Privileging operations, including data collection, analytical assessment for competencies to ensure patient safety. Assures compliance with regulatory agencies, Medical Staff Bylaws, rules, regulations and hospital policies for each of the 7 hospitals. Responsible for market wide central processing operations of applications for additional and withdrawal of privileges; change of categories; requests for LOAs; and resignations including data collection and analytical assessment for competencies. Evaluates documentation, assists with preparation of summarized information relative to all new Medical Staff and Allied Health Providers for the region, as well as existing providers for re-credentialing in conjunction with Regional Director. Follows up on any committee actions pertinent to areas of responsibility. Acts as a liaison with Physicians, Department Chairmen/Section Chiefs, Regional Director and other management to resolve credentialing/privileging and other issues, as needed. Compiles, maintains, audits and expedites all confidential credentialing/privileging applications and documents. Updates credentialing databases, generates reports, and disseminates critical credentialing/privileging information. Assures credentialing databases are maintained to ensure accuracy and integrity of information and maintains a system for the standard organization of credentialing and privileging files. Acts as an educational resource for providers in the region and is available to consult with providers and management relative to the credentialing and privileging process. Assists Regional Director in meeting standards for The Joint Commission and surveys as needed. Qualifications - Minimum EDUCATION: Required Education: 2 year Associates Degree EXPERIENCE: Three years of direct credentialing/privileging and primary source verification experience or comparable experience in a healthcare related field. Knowledge of The Joint Commission standards, state and federal credentialing standards and requirements, good organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work in a confidential and very fast-paced environment.
