Intern Requisition Number 59949 Account Eastern Maine Medical Center Department Clinical Engineering Shift Temporary Full-Time Status Day Hours 7-3:30 Hours per Week 40 Job Details This position is open for currently enrolled students only MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Current enrollment in a degree program for Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electronics Technology from an accredited College or University. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 4 completed semesters enrolled in an engineering program with grades of C or better. OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED: Demonstrated electrical, mechanical and computer aptitude. General knowledge of biology, chemistry, physics, and math. Good verbal and written communication. Good organizational skills. General knowledge of tools and test equipment. The ability to work well with administrators, physicians, nurses and other medical equipment users in a customer service setting. Basic knowledge of clinical practice and medical terminology. PHSYICAL REQUIREMENTS: Mostly light to medium, occasionally heavy work. Requires extensive walking throughout the medical center. Work requires fingering and grasping. Some lifting, pushing, and pulling. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching and working in a prone position. Occasional climbing and reaching. Requires ability to hear and talk. Requires visual range from arm's length to close to the eyes. Requires color perception. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Inside working conditions. May have exposure to hazards such as but not limited to: electrical current, moving mechanical parts, chemicals, gases, infectious materials, hot pipes, high noise levels, and ionizing and non-ionizing radiation.
