    As a key member of our fast-paced Corporate Development team, this position would put you at the forefront of a number of merger and acquisition projects, providing extensive exposure to key executive personnel throughout our organization and the opportunity to develop industry experience across all facets of the healthcare landscape. Optum has completed over 100 transactions since 2000 and will continue to be an active investor in driving its health services growth strategy as it adapts to an evolving healthcare landscape.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Preparing and analyzing financial models
    • Researching M&A candidates, including qualitative, financial and valuation analyses
    • Organizing and conducting due diligence on potential acquisition targets
    • Working as a key liaison to business segments, transaction advisors and acquisition targets

    Required Qualifications:

    • Currently in final year of obtaining a bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, business administration or related field from an accredited college / university or obtained degree within the last 12 months; coursework to obtain degree must be completed prior to start of employment. Degree must be awarded and verified within 6-8 weeks following the commencement date at your school
    • Minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA required, 3.50 or above preferred
    • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)
    • Exceptional problem solving and communication skills
    • Some knowledge of financial modeling and valuation techniques
    • Intense intellectual curiosity and ability to learn quickly outside of a classroom setting
    • Comfort with team-based work
    • Willingness to work significant hours in a challenging and fast-paced workplace
