Safety Officer can assist with identification of job hazards. * Essential Job Functions * Essential Functions I * ------------ Supports multiple vendor software systems to meet the needs of the user by completing necessary tasks in an accurate and timely manner. * Implements and supports Electronic Medical Records (EMR) applications by working and troubleshooting with the application engineer and by training and supporting clinic physicians and employees on proper use of this system. * Implements and supports functions related to Electronic Medical Records (EMR), i.e. low volume scanning, high volume scanning either directly into the system or into associated systems, i.e. ApExtender. * ------------ Works closely with project leads (Clinic and IT) on assigned tasks by daily review and communication. * Attends all project meetings and completes all assigned work in a timely manner and adjust to changes in workload demands. * Demonstrates skills in working with others involved in the project plan and getting their cooperation. * Notifies customer of any anticipated delays of project or potential change in plans ahead of time. * Reviews build with customer to ensure outcomes are met and seek opportunity for improvement participating in current state/future states assessments. * ------------ Maintains and updates project plans under the direction of the project leads to insure completion in an accurate, timely manner. * Provides written recommendations to management areas regarding processes affected by new system. * Communicates effectively and professionally with upper management/project leaders on project status. * Updates project plan to facilitate inner department communication and insure implementation date is met. * Prepares adequate training materials to assist with the implementation. * Provides on-site support at time of implementation and communicates effectively with application engineers to resolve system problems. * ------------ Configures and verifies new/revised application sign-ons for employees/physicians to ensure appropriate access/functionality and training needed is granted. * Communicates with Revenue Cycle Training and Information Technology (I.T.) departments as appropriate to verify Cerner Sign on position and Single Sign On access is granted accurately 99% of the time. * Coordinates with appropriate departments/clinic managers, new physician access to/training of Cerner PowerChart and remote Electronic Medical Records (EMR) programs, including access from home computer. * Performs quality assurance on sign-on codes to ensure appropriate access is provided prior to training. * ------------ Tests code to insure functionality by following prescribed âtest environmentâ rules. * Has appropriate knowledge of development and test systems in-order to accurately perform unit and integration tests of PowerChart applications. * Assists/coordinates with Information Technology (IT) as necessary with equipment to help insure that all aspects of each application are available to the user to avoid incidents at the time of implementation. * ------------ Maintains knowledge and reference to programs or systems to provide maintenance, and training by documenting functionality. * Clearly understands all clinical and business system support applications, including but not limited to, PowerChart, Dragon/Power Note, ExitCare, MultiMedia Manager, Single Sign On, and person management/scheduling book functions in order to provide support and maintenance. * Acts as primary liaison to prioritize requests and changes between customers and application engineers. * Communicates changes to users in a timely and thorough fashion. * Develops and provides documentation/tools needed for training classes and educates employees/physicians to ensure an appropriate competency level in order to perform their job functions. * If needed can learn and perform users current job functions so that they may be able to attend class. * Develop and provide checklists to ensure customer understanding. * Clearly understands the navigator bar functions in PowerChart and has appropriate knowledge of patient lists, provider groups and encounter types. Can accurately set up a physicians schedule to display in PowerChart and can educate users to appropriate competency level in order to perform their job functions. * ------------ Resolves problems to insure Health System customer needs are met by troubleshooting, identifying problems and defining and implementing solutions. * Understands the design and build of Cerner conversations in order to identify problems with PowerChart and person management/scheduling by troubleshooting the Database (DB) conversation with builder and application engineer and implement solutions.. * Understands the PowerChart and person management/scheduling database tools in order to identify problems, trouble shoot with application engineer and implement solutions. * Communicates effectively with application engineers to provide necessary information to build provider groups. Has knowledge of the user maintenance tool and provider group tool in order to resolve problems and implement solutions with application engineers. * Has appropriate knowledge of printer functions and equipment necessary to insure that printing capabilities will be available at the time of implementation. Can trouble shoot with network services and resolve and implement solutions. * Has knowledge of Log me In in-order to assist customers when needed in a timely manner. * Adequately reports to Information Technology (IT) problems using an Incident Form or Logos Ticket. Needs to demonstrate the difference between an Incident Form and a Logos Ticket. * ------------ Provides follow-up to trained individuals to ensure understanding and utilization of applications. * Performs on-site support after implementation of new system/functionality. * Conducts on-site review of the training check list topics with trainees, approximately one-month after their training sessions. * Performs monthly scheduled/communicated on-site visits post training/implementation 95% of the time. * ------------ Provides re-training as needed or as requested by supervisory staff. * Identifies areas to be retrained by working with supervisory staff * Provides focused training and follow-up as requested by supervisory staff. * Reports issues/concerns to supervisory staff for their follow-up to identify and assist as needed in resolution of Human Resources (HR) issues related to system utilization. * Assesses any deficiencies with initial training or training materials 100% of the time. * After each training, sends completed checklist to manager of site. * Essential Functions II * ------------ Participates in mandatory in-services and/or CE programs as mandated by policies and procedures/external agencies and as directed by management. * ------------ Follows and understands the mission, vision, core values, Employee Standards of Behavior and company policies/procedures. * ------------ Other duties as assigned. * On special projects/duties assigned, adequately communicates to supervisor status of projects and any concerns or issues, especially related to client needs and deadlines. * On special projects/duties assigned, adequately communicates during Team meetings about the current status of projects to ensure Teammates are educated/informed. * On special projects/duties assigned, adequately communicates to other Methodist departments to ensure proper coordination and respectful information share.
