- Purpose of Job * Assists in the various activities of the Pharmacy
department not requiring the professional judgment of the pharmacist. *
Job Requirements * Education * High school diploma, General Educational
Development (GED) or equivalent required. * Admittance to a nationally
recognized School of Pharmacy Program. * Experience * N/A *
License/Certifications * Required Registered Pharmacy Intern (RPHI)
within 30 days from start of employment. * Skills/Knowledge/Abilities *
General basic chemistry, arithmetic, basic algebra, reading and writing.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook and Word. * Functions with
strict accordance with standard, written procedures and guidelines. *
Interpret and evaluate medication requests for triaging to pharmacist. *
Prioritize time and tasks according to the needs of patients without
prompting. * Manufactures, packages and labels drug products as needed.
- Performs aseptic compounding of parenteral admixtures and other
sterile dosage forms. * Drug dispensing and compounding automation, the
viewing of medication orders in the pharmacy computerized system. *
Preparation of medications for patients, delivery and exchange of
medications. * Record keeping and dispensing of controlled substances

Demonstrates competency with the established procedures approved by the
Pharmacy Management. * ------------ Transfer of medication issues is
communicated between the pharmacy team. * ALL issues and pending
transactions are communicated to staff for completion. * ------------
Sterile Compounding Management * Pass Low Risk Level Competency and
Annual Media Fill and manage flow of products. * ------------ Central
Pharmacy Management * Manage telephone calls on a respectable level and
follow-up. * Unit Dose area and Automated Dispensing Machine (ADM)
oversight. * Manage the flow of products with no backlog or delays. *
Performs extemporaneous compounding according to established recipes. *
Narcotic ADM systems attainment and paperwork. * Crash Cart and surgical
trays completed prior to end of shift. * Involved with clinical
questions with pharmacist oversight. * ------------ Patient Care Unit
Management * Completes all ADM Pending and Loads prior to end of shift.
- ALL credits are checked per shift, returned to pharmacy, and put in
