• Prepares food following diet guidelines and recipes for hospital patients, cafeteria and coffee shop customers, child care, hospice and catering. * Follows all sanitation and hygiene policies * Limited protected health information access JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES: * Follows standardized recipes and maintains quality control to portion food for all types of therapeutic diets as per standards * Stores, labels, and dates food according to department policy/Infection Control standards * Maintains acceptable food temperatures throughout all phases of food production and storage and records temperatures for Performance Improvement activities. * Prepares food for cafeteria, patients, child care, coffee shop, and catering menus * Effectively utilizes leftovers so as to minimize food waste * Follows proper cleaning procedures for assigned work area * Monitors all meal service and replenishes food as needed * Preps food items for the room service menu and other meals as directed. * Follows all sanitizing and hygiene guidelines. * Cleans floors, walls, ceiling, equipment following tasks list as developed. * Assist where needed as a team member in the Food Nutrition Service Department. Required Skills LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: N/A EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent EXPERIENCE: Prefer two years of experience in food preparation. Health care experience is beneficial. Following completion of training, job competency must be demonstrated in actual task completion. Requires high level of maturity in constant dealing with co-works and customers. Must demonstrate knowledge of problem solving and decision-making skills. Must be able to respond appropriately in stressful situations. Must be able to read, write, follow written recipes, and communicate effectively. Must have simple math skills and be able to perform simple calculations.
