Education/Experience/Licensure -Education/Formal Training -Work Experience -Credential/Licensure -REQUIRED: -High school diploma or GED required. -One (1) year of related work experience required. -N/A -PREFERRED: -Graduate from an accredited program in Emergency Medical Services strongly preferred. -Call center experience in a Healthcare environment strongly preferred. -N/A -SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED: -N/A -N/A -N/A Knowledge/Skills/Abilities -Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written materials, such as patient records. -Ability to communicate verbally with all level of associates, management, physicians, patients and their families. -Ability to follow established procedures and regulations. -Ability to exercise independent judgement and initiative. -Basic knowledge of PC and radio communications hardware and dispatching software. Key Job Responsibilities -Prioritizes transportation requests according to the patients acuity to ensure that emergent transportation requests receive priority. -Documents any quality and service incidents concerning any problems that may occur in the course of a shift. -Maintains a basic understanding of insurance and issuing payment authorizations. -Performs other functions as needed. Physical Requirements -The ability to sit for long periods in a call center environment. -Must have good balance and coordination. -The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading. -Ability to react quickly and calmly to emergency situations.
