For more than fifty (50) years, Metrocare has provided an array of services available to people with mental and developmental disabilities. In addition to behavioral health services, Metrocare provides primary care centers for adults and children, accessible pharmacies, housing and supportive social services. Through the Altshuler Center for Education & Research we are advancing mental health beyond Dallas County. The behavior support fellow uses applied behavior analysis based techniques based on scientific literature; primarily behavior assessments, skills assessments, and behavioral intervention and training. This is a office based position working with children. All work will be supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned.)Assessments and Evaluations utilizing a variety of assessments such as the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills, or the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program, or the Developmental Profile-3, or the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales 2nd edition. Or the Aberrant Behavior Checklist.Develop clear behavioral acquisition, intervention and reduction plansData analysisHands-on implementation, monitoring and adjustment of intervention plansProvide parent and caregiver training to individuals families enrolled in the programProvide staff training to those involved in the care of the individualCOMPETENCIES: The competencies listed here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Self-motivating, able to work independentlyStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to communicate and collaborate with a variety of individuals, teams and systems.Able to apply working knowledge of MS Office 97/07Family and staff training abilities during difficult, stressful momentsAbility to receive and provide clear feedback from projects within interdisciplinary groups Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Masters in Applied Behavioral Analysis or related field with emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis.Minimum of one to two years experience in delivery of ABA to the autism or developmental disabilities populationExperience working with individuals ages 3 and upExperience with Autism specific ABA/PBS program development and training.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic math skills required for this position.
