There is not a guarantee of an employment offer after the internship, however, the internship can provide a great foundation for future candidacy, and is a superb opportunity for acquiring experiences and mentors for recommendations. Internship dates: May 21, 2018 August 10, 2018 (12 weeks) Salary: $12/hour for 20 hours a week (non-benefitted position) All interns will start as a cohort and will attend an internship orientation , receive support from each other, and identified training and professional development opportunities. Interns must be available to attend orientation from 8am - 12:30pm on Monday, May 21, 2018 Final applicants are subject to pre-employment reference and background check. C learance from Mission WorkWell health assessment (including drug screen, proof of immunizations) is required prior to start of internship. The intern will need to be able to be on-site for the duration of the internship in Asheville, NC (housing not provided). NAME OF INTERNSHIP: Parking and Shuttle Services Program Intern ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: Parking, Shuttle, and Access Control Services is a division of Mission Security, and supports parking and access control needs at all Mission Health facilities. We also support the shuttle programs at Mission Hospital, in Asheville and McDowell Hospital, in Marion. LOCATION: Loretta Hall, 3rd Floor 428 Biltmore Avenue (behind the main St. Joseph Hospital building) Asheville, NC 28801 ROLE SUMMARY: The intern will provide a broad range of administrative and program support to the department. Duties will include: Conducting research to determine best, and/or common place practices for parking and shuttle operations at hospital or healthcare facilities. Coordinate marketing, outreach, and implementation for alternative transportation programs. The position entails planning and coordinating communications, including promotions, to inform employees and patients/visitors about parking, shuttle, or other transportation programs at Mission Hospital. Coordinate data entry for both the valet and shuttle parking programs; interpret data and make recommendations for program improvements. Provide clerical support for the program, including timely distribution of information and materials, regularly updating programs databases and website, and monitoring program supply inventories. Assist in the development and implementation of incentive programs, special events, and surveys. Assist Manager of Parking and Shuttle Services with administrative duties and performs other related duties as required. Intern Learning Objectives: Learn to work within a team and to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors Learn to develop a comprehensive marketing campaign across social media platforms Be able to demonstrate knowledge of the organization by communicating with internal and external customers through various forms of communication, phone calls, email correspondence, interoffice communication during team meetings and written reports. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES: Must have strong computer skills including some knowledge of database management, word processing, and spreadsheet development. Must possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Must be able to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks. Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills required. Knowledge of commuter transportation and/or parking industry is highly desirable.
