The goal of the program is to increase internships provided by Mission Health in order to develop a diverse workforce for the growing healthcare industry. There is not a guarantee of an employment offer after the internship, however, the internship can provide a great foundation for future candidacy, and is a superb opportunity for acquiring experiences and mentors for recommendations. Internship dates: May 21, 2018 August 10, 2018 (12 weeks) Salary: $12/hour for 20 hours a week (non-benefitted position) All interns will start as a cohort and will attend an internship orientation , receive support from each other, and identified training and professional development opportunities. Interns must be available to attend orientation from 8am - 12:30pm on Monday, May 21, 2018 Final applicants are subject to pre-employment reference and background check. C learance from Mission WorkWell health assessment (including drug screen, proof of immunizations) is required prior to start of internship. The intern will need to be able to be on-site for the duration of the internship in Asheville, NC (housing not provided). NAME OF INTERNSHIP: Human Resources Talent Acquisition & Career Exploration Intern ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Talent Acquisition team handles the recruitment of employees for all roles within the entire system. Last year, the team filled over 4,000 positions. With the support of Marketing and Communications, Talent does outreach to job seekers across WNC, the region and the entire country. They showcase the reasons Mission Health is the best place for your healthcare career on the website, in print ads, at job fairs, at conferences, on job boards, and a variety of methods of outreach. LOCATION: Human Resources 1 Hospital Drive, Asheville, NC 28801 ROLE SUMMARY: This intern will work collaboratively with the Human Resources Talent Acquisition Consultants and Career Exploration Center staff to assist in a variety of projects related to recruitment and onboarding. The intern will have the opportunity to interact and collaborate with a wide range of healthcare professionals, service areas and professions. They will exercise project management skills, interpersonal skills, organization and research. There will also be ample opportunity for informational interviews, networking, and learning about Mission Health and functions of leadership and Human Resources. The intern will use the applicant tracking system (iCIMS) to assist with the new grad RN nursing residency program as well as to assist with other departments across the health system as needed. There will be opportunity to learn the full cycle of recruitment including assisting with resume reviews, student onboarding, using email templates to communicate with candidates during the application process, skill survey references, prophecy assessment system, attending events and career fairs, interview scheduling, and participating in the interview process. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES: The ideal candidate will have the ability to perform multiple tasks associated with identifying, tracking and communicating with applicants and potential applicants for defined roles throughout the Mission Health System. The Talent Acquisition intern must be proficient or adept in quickly learning to navigate through computer software programs including but not limited to: Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel and ability to learn recruitment tools such as iCIMS, Prophecy, Hirevue, and Skill Survey Reference systems. The role requires the ability to focus for long periods of time and proficiently organize multiple tasks quickly and efficiently. The role may require research online to identify potential applicants. PREFERRED EDUCATION: Current and rising college seniors, graduate students, recent graduates within the past year, and professionals changing careers are eligible to apply. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE : Previous experience working within a fast paced professional environment, sensitive and confidential documents, or a healthcare human resources setting.
