NAME OF INTERNSHIP: Mission Experience Intern ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: Our department, Mission Experience, is focused on creating an exceptional experience for patients and families across the continuum of care. We are focused on getting every person to their desired outcome, first without harm, also without waste, and always with an exceptional experience for each person, family, and team member. One of our efforts is related to creating and sustaining a healing environment for patients. This includes one that is safe, clean, and quiet. The Mission Experience department is leading an interdisciplinary council focused on cleanliness and quietness, which includes reviewing best practices and interviewing patients and families to gain additional insight. Our department also oversees Leader Rounding on Patients through the use of iRound and assists with rounding on units as needed. LOCATION: Mission Experience 509 Biltmore Avenue B562 Asheville, NC 28801 ROLE SUMMARY: The intern will provide a broad range of support related to the Mission Experience. However, the majority of the work will be related to the Healing Environment focus and patient and family experience. Duties will include: Conducts research to determine leading practices related to creating a quiet, and healing environment. Coordinates marketing and the Healing Environment Council related to implementation of practices. Conducts interviews with patients and families using approved survey tool; analyze and present data to Healing Environment Council and other applicable committees. Manages regular review of HCAHPS data related to the Environment Domain; at the unit and organizational level. Assists with the development and coordination of Mission Experience Healing Environment tool kit to be used across the system. Participates in Leader Rounding with patients and families as directed by the Patient Experience Officer. Demonstrates icare in all interactions along with MERIT values and the commitment to the BG(GER) Aim. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES: Must have strong computer skills including knowledge of database creation, word processing, and data presentation. Must possess exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Must be able to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks. Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. PREFERRED EDUCATION: Current and rising college seniors, graduate students, recent graduates within the past year, and professionals changing careers are eligible to apply.
