Job Description
LET’S DO GREAT THINGS, TOGETHER. Founded in Oregon in 1955, Moda is proud to be a company of real people committed to quality. Today, like then, we’re focused on building a better future for healthcare. That starts by offering outstanding coverage to our members, compassionate support to our community and comprehensive benefits to our employees. It keeps going by connecting with neighbors to create healthy spaces and places, together. Moda Health is seeking two Actuary Interns to support the department and provide analysis and reporting for external and internal customers. The Moda actuarial internship position is a great way to explore the complex and dynamic field of health insurance. This position will provide exposure to all aspects of health insurance including data analysis, technical “tool” building, underwriting, and customer service. As a key member of the actuarial and underwriting team, you’ll have the opportunity to work with many different departments within Moda including Product, Sales and Service. The intern will work on projects that vary in difficulty and complexity, but are all important to the success of the actuarial and underwriting departments. While this position does not require previous actuarial experience, it is not an entry level position and is best for someone who has some professional and analytical experience. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates the completion and submission of multiple required state and federal filings, reports, and applications.
Creates and maintains documentation of the processes developed for the pooled product segments and filings.
Learns procedures and programming behind spreadsheets and applications utilized by the department and establishes a comprehensive understanding of these to streamline processes.
Coordinates and collaborates with multiple departments to ensure common practices and data consistency within our applications.
Manage compliance with state and federal regulations.
Compiles and verifies data, prepares reports and provides various levels of analysis and documentation.
Acts as a peer review and resource for the filing and reporting processes.
Performs other duties as assigned.
ARE YOU READY TO BE A BETTERIST? If you’re ready to make a difference that matters, we want to hear from you. Because it’s time to discover what’s possible. Together, we can be more. We can be better.
