The Cell Therapy Lab is recruiting for a Research Specialist III in Tampa, FL. Position Highlights: · Opportunity to join a NCI designated comprehensive cancer center to assist in the assay development for evaluation of novel cellular therapy treatments testing for cancer patients · Participation in cutting edge-immunotherapy clinical trials designed to activate immune system cells for the treatment of cancer · Join an expanding team of laboratory professionals dedicated to GMP cell manufacturing in support of institutional and industry-sponsored pre-clinical and clinical studies · Collaborate with scientists, clinicians, quality and regulatory experts, facility operations personnel and industry partners to facilitate team science and develop new processes. The Ideal Candidate · Candidate must possess excellent research skills including assay development and troubleshooting, data analysis, and documentation. · Candidate should haven a working knowledge of quality control assays including ELISA, qPCR, multicolor flow cytometry and cell counting techniques. · The successful candidate will be a strong communicator interacting effectively within the Cell Therapy department and with researchers and principle investigators from other laboratories · Candidate must be dedicated to adhere to applicable standards (e.g. cGMP, cGTP, AABB, FACT) and have experience working with blood and cellular products. · Candidate must have an ongoing commitment to stay abreast of current techniques and procedures related to the field Responsibilities: · Development and validation of assays to evaluate the safety, potency, identify, and sterility cellular therapy products manufactured in the Cell Therapy Facility (CTF) · Assist in the design, coordinate and evaluate process validation for new and revised SOPs · Able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects. · Able to work independently on off-shifts, capable of handling stress of producing accurate results under time constraints; willing to accommodate schedule adjustments, as well as off-shift and weekend assignments as workload dictates. Credentials and Qualifications: · Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or other Biological Science, Master's preferred · Demonstrated ability to work independently to achieve expected outcomes. · Minimum of three years of hands-on experience in an active research setting and at least two years of experience in assay development. · Minimum of two years of multicolor flow cytometry. · Experience with writing, editing and training from technical documentation.
