With this vision, we will work to create a life of special moments for our residents JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Wellness Director, The Reflections Care Coordinator: JOB SUMMARY: The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures. The Reflections Coordinator must exhibit genuine interest in residents with dementia and show patience and understanding while working with residents, families and visitors. This position is responsible for managing all facets of service to address resident care needs in the Reflections Community. The Reflections Coordinator hires, trains, supervises and schedules the care givers and MCMs. The Reflections Coordinator monitors resident care needs, alerts the Wellness Director when the resident has a change in condition, addresses resident and family concerns, responds to the resident special requests and acts as a liaison with community providers. The Reflections Coordinator coordinates services with the Life Enrichment, Dietary, Maintenance and Housekeeping departments for the memory care areas. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty according to MorningStars Standards. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required. License/Certification: Successful completion of State approved Medication Administration training and a current first aid certificate Education/Experience: Prefer minimum of 2 years of health related experience including caring for people with dementia, or supervisory/management experience working with people with dementia Continuing Education: As required by law, attend in-service educations within the community Professional Memberships: Recommended and encouraged to be a member of the Alzheimers Association and participate in their programs Other: Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procurement manuals, etc. Must have good communication skills and must be able to effectively communicate in English and understand and follow written and oral direction. Provide maximum resident-care services within limits defined by delegated tasks JOB KNOWLEDGE: * Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in providing dementia related resident-care service * Understanding of standard techniques used in providing personal services for dementia residents and in caring for equipment and supplies * Good understanding of the basis of universal precautions to avoid infection of residents and self or contamination of equipment and supplies * Be aware of the assessment process and the development and execution of negotiated care plans for residents with dementia.
