We are pleased to offer a 6 Month full-time Internship OR Master Thesis starting in or about August 2018 at BMW of North America, LLC. The evaluation and testing of vehicles during development includes several modules and steps. Country specific aspects have to be taken into consideration. Technical innovations, customer behavior and legal framework have to be analyzed frequently and aligned with the existing test program within this specific context. This guarantees, that tests and evaluations are performed efficiently and are target oriented. The goal for this Internship or Master Thesis is the improvement of the US specific drivetrain test and evaluation process considering market conditions and requirements. Analyzing existing data and studies is necessary. Environmental conditions, fuel data, customer feedback and failed components are possible sources of information. Focusing on US specific topics has priority. The assessment of new technologies in a conventional drivetrain provides the opportunity to create testing procedures today for future technology. The alignment with today's procedures and results will increase the efficiency of the current validation program. The development and adjustment of US specific test routes and procedures has to be implemented in consideration of profitability aspects. In this case, the intern will spend time during 6 months researching and working with the department with focus on the master thesis as a final product of the Master's program while at BMW. 6-Months Full-time internship: Applicable for those who are currently not writing a master thesis in this specific topic, but are interested in an internship at BMW NA. In this case, the intern will be working on a daily basis with the topics and will perform several different activities. Qualifications and experience Minimum Requirements: Enrolled in a Master's program, or have graduated no more than 12 months prior to internship start date (B) Bilingual German & English (fluent, oral and written) Preferred Requirements: Field of Study : Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Emphasis in Automotive Engineering BMW experience; BMW B1 driver license Attributes: Analytical, conscientious, responsible, self motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Availability of 6 months at least Please make your selection below to apply today!
