MyoKardia has a summer internship available for enrolled Ph.D. candidate to explore the role of sarcomere proteins and small molecules in genetic heart disease. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Expression and purification of bacterially-expressed proteins * Development of functional and enzymatic assays * Present work at group and company meetings * Ability to work independently and in coordination with a team of scientists * Ability to multi-task with flexibility to changing plans and schedules * Good organizational, communication and team skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: * Currently-enrolled PhD candidate in biochemistry, biophysics, bioengineering, cell biology, or similar field * Basic knowledge of muscle biology and enzyme kinetics * Experience with protein purification and enzymatic assays * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Highly-motivated team player, willing to work collaboratively as part of a multi-functional team
