Clinical Applications Specialist Nanosonics, Inc. - Chicago, IL CLINICAL APPLICATIONS SPECIALIST JOB DESCRIPTION Nanosonics Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nanosonics Limited, a publicly listed ASX300 Australian medical device company. We are currently expanding our operations and we are seeking a Clinical Applications Specialist to join our growing North American Team. PRIMARY OBJECTIVES & AUTHORITY Under the general supervision of the Vice President, North America, the Clinical Applications Specialist is responsible for initially assessing Sonex use and applications with the intent of increasing Sonex demand and providing initial and on-going clinical applications training and technical sales support to end-use customers for trophon EPR and related consumables in hospital and practice settings. They are the primary educator of clinical standards regarding HLD of Semi-critical devices and will improve trophon use across all departments. The position will participate in customer meetings from pre-sale, site qualification, site assessment (walk through) installation and regular in-service/education to insure optimum system performance and customer satisfaction and create additional demand for trophon systems, accessories, service and consumables as appropriate. This is a field position and requires significant travel within an assigned territory. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES * Perform client In-service and training activity with active coordination with assigned Sales Consultant and follow up within ten working days to check customer status with new equipment. * Provide pre and post-sale product education to customers in support of demand generation strategy. This includes clinical validations, advanced concept education across all departments, and in-service education. * Consult customers regarding operation of Nanosonics products, and maintain general after-sales technical support in support of Sales Consultant. * Provide proactive problem solving and timely follow-up of customer issues. Identify and utilize available support resources (i.e., technical customer service, and marketing). * Participate in product development teams by becoming involved in product/marketing testing. * Research and communicate competitive marketplace information for the Marketing Department. * Assist in development of educational and market support tools for field or in-house use. * Perform on-site demos and clinical training for customers to stimulate demand and improve customer knowledge across all appropriate departments and segments. * Plan and Provide weekly activity schedules to Sales Consultants and management. * Assist Sales teams with implementation of marketing programs and product launches by communicating objectives of program and outcome expectation. * Represent Nanosonics by attending and participating in local and national organizational meetings or events appropriate to responsibilities (APIC, AAMI, etc.). SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE Direct knowledge of Infection Prevention guidelines and processes with large industry users such as hospitals, clinics, and other medical facilities. * Direct knowledge of Infection Prevention guidelines and processes with large industry users such as hospitals, clinics, and other medical facilities. * Experience in infection control and risk management. * BS degree or equivalent (nursing and/or other health care experience). * Ideal candidate must be a self-starter, and have strong history of achievement in client development with ability to multi-task and work with ambiguity. * Direct knowledge of key accounts with established relationships. * Minimum of three years related clinical or medical experience. * Health care sales experience is a plus * Health care experience as a licensed clinician or equivalent, experience in endoscopy or infection control areas and/or APIC CIC a plus * Active involvement in relevant professional organizations. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES * Strong presence with prospecting skills ability. * High energy level with demonstrated motivation and creativity. * Demonstrated capability in relationship management with multiple stakeholders. * Excellent presentation and communication skills. * Ability to identify sales leads and successfully market products. * Willingness and ability to travel extensively (weekly travels). * Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
