    Research Associate, Cancer Immunology Reports to: Senior Scientist, Cancer Immunology Location: Cambridge, MA Company Summary Neon Therapeutics is an immuno-oncology company focused on developing novel therapeutics leveraging neoantigen biology to treat cancer. Neon utilizes its expertise in bioinformatics, neoepitope prediction and immune monitoring to identify tumor specific mutations and monitor clinical response to their personalized vaccines. Neon Therapeutics lead program is NEO-PV-01, a bespoke neoantigen vaccine that builds upon years of research and development at the Broad Institute and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. NEO-PV-01 is now being studied in a Phase 1b clinical trial combining the vaccine with Opdivo®, a PD-1 immune checkpoint inhibitor from Bristol-Myers Squibb, in patients with measurable metastatic melanoma, non-small cell lung cancer and bladder cancer. Also in development are NEO-PTC-01, a bespoke autologous T cell therapy, and a Shared Neoantigen Program leveraging neoepitopes that are common across patients and tumor types. In addition, Neon has established strategic partnerships with CRISPR, Merck, and Apexigen, among others. By the end of 2018, it is anticipated there will be multiple clinical programs utilizing Neons platform. Neon Therapeutics was incubated and launched by Third Rock Ventures, Raised a $55M Series A in 2015, a $106M Series B in December 2017, and completed its IPO, raising $100M in the summer of 2018. Position Summary Neon is seeking a highly skilled and motivated immunologist ready to work in an enthusiastic and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will work across multiple programs and s/he will be developing pre-clinical in vivoand in vitroassays to help advance Neons vaccine pipeline. The candidate will work hands-on in lab using cellular assays to measure immunogenicity of vaccine candidates using various mouse tumor models. The candidate will also be responsible for analyzing and presenting data to cross-functional teams in a timely manner. A successful candidate will embody and demonstrate commitment to Neons core values: Patients, People, Science, Tenacity, Pioneer, Integrity Job Duties * Isolation of leukocytes, CD4+T and CD8+T cells from murine lymphoid organs * Analysis of multicolor flow cytometry data * Perform and analyze ex vivoimmune cell assays such as ELISpot, cell sorting, flow cytometry, MSD, ELISA and related immune assays * Development of in vitro cytotoxic assays * Grow and maintain cell lines and primary cell cultures * Design mouse immunogenicity and tumor efficacy experiments * Maintain an up to date and well-organized electronic lab notebook * Responsible for general laboratory assistance including lab equipment and inventory maintenance, ordering and receiving reagents * Analyze and communicate data to other team members and department leads Experience and Essential Skills * B.S., B.A., or M.S. degree in Biology or relevant field * Minimum of 2 years of technical experience in immunology/ oncology or related field * Strong background on immunology, oncology, biochemistry and/or biotechnology * General immunology techniques, including T cell-based assays * Ability to identify, troubleshoot and solve critical issues associated with immunological methods * Ability to work and communicate in a large cross-functional team * Excellent attention to detail * Proven track record of being personable, energetic, accountable, and an effective communicator * Must work well independently and as an integral part of the team Core Values At Neon Therapeutics, our core values drive our actions ever day.
