    Job Description

    The Public Affairs team at New England Donor Services is looking to hire a creative and outgoing social media content specialist!  As the SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST, you will create engaging, clickable, shareable social media content through photography, short-form videos, graphic design and superior writing skills. Targeting both internal and external audiences, you will utilize your social media strategies to ensure the NEDS mission and Donate Life message is amplified online. The incumbent will define and drive the strategy to grow audiences and user engagement for New England Donor Services on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and other emerging social media channels and online platforms. Using data analytic tools, you will monitor, audit, and assess the effectiveness of social  media efforts, report out on social media analytics and recommend content optimization strategies across all social media platforms.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Serve as the subject matter expert on digital media trends and identify new and innovative methods for increasing online engagement
    • Strategically target use of budgeted funds for digital media buys and paid social media boosts
    • Fulfills the graphic design needs of the Public Affairs department which may include design elements for social media images, special events, infographics, and other materials
    • Responsible for sourcing and pitching stories, building relationships with targeted media outlets and hospital PR teams
    • Works as part of the Public Affairs team to effectively administer all the functions of the department. Provides back-up to other team members when needed_       _
  • Qualifications

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    • Two to five years’ experience in social media strategic management, graphic design, photography, short-form videos and public relations is required
    • Previous experience in a non-profit or healthcare organization is preferred

    SKILLS/APTITUDES

    • Advanced knowledge of social media channels, management and tools for optimization including detailed knowledge of social metrics, including Google Analytics
    • Must be adept in working with graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop/Premiere, Canva, etc. for digital media content creation
    • Must be adept in photography and short-form videos for in-house and online audiences
    • Website management skills (WordPress) preferred
    • Excellent organizational skills are required with ability to multi-task and be deadline driven
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills required
    • Must be goal-oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Must be creative in regards to problem-solving forward thinking, streamlining work processes and development of new ideas and initiatives
    • Able to express empathy and use emotional intelligence
    • Must be computer literate and knowledgeable of various software packages
    • Ability to adjust schedule as needed to prepare for and execute events, INCLUDING WEEKENDS AND EVENINGS
    • Ready and willing to monitor social channels after hours and on weekends, including posting when necessary
