Overview -

Founded in 2012 with less than 20 students, Ni Hao Chinese now has had over 2,000 students go through our language learning program. We are looking for Mandarin Teaching Assistants to join our team. This position is perfect for those looking for a future career as a teacher. As a Mandarin TA, you will be given the chance to work in a real LAUSD classroom with a credentialed teacher. Many of our past TAs have moved on to teaching positions at the LAUSD school district and some of our TAs might be given an opportunity to teach in the classroom as substitute teachers. 

Work Responsibilities -

• Help children with class activities.
• Work with teachers to help students with different language backgrounds and skill levels.
• Help teachers with students' homework and other assignments.
• Be able to manage a small group of students and direct them to work on their assignments.
• Display enthusiasm, understanding, and commitment to ensure the children’s experiences are positive and underpin their educational lives.

Requirements -

• High school diploma required (Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred).
• Must be fluent in Mandarin Chinese
• Prior experience working with school-aged students preferred
• Passionate about education and creative with teaching
• Take initiatives and be able to follow instructions
• Able to evaluate, analyze, and solve problems with children
• Able to multi-task with children and other responsibilities

Job Type: Part-Time (20-30 hrs/week), Internship

Salary: $16 - $18 per hour
