Medical Assistant, Cardiology OP Clinic (part-time, FF, days) Job Description req2918 Medical Assistant, Cardiology OP Clinic (part-time, FF, days) Part Time, FTE: 0.6 Gateway MOB Fairfield, CA Job Summary: The Medical Assistant I is responsible for providing basic direct patient care in support of a healthcare provider in an ambulatory care setting under the direction and supervision of a licensed physician. These responsibilities include assisting patient flow, coordination of the medical record, and support of clinic processes. All duties will be performed within scope of practice and according to department and organizational policies and procedures. Education: 1. High school graduate or equivalent. 2. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required. Licensure and Certification: 1. Current AHA or equivalent BLS certification required. 2. Medical Assistant certification preferred. Experience, Knowledge and Skills: 1. One years experience in ambulatory care setting preferred. 2. Demonstrated effective time management and problem solving skills. 3. Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients in the following age groups: Young Adult, Adult, and Geriatric. 4. Knowledge of medical terminology required. 5. Knowledge of office equipment and basic computer skills desirable. 6. Knowledge of Cerner desirable. 7. Must achieve Medical Assistant II status within 12 months of hire (requires completion of NorthBays medication class for medical assistants). Other: 1.
