Career Opportunities: PERIOP 101 (11561) Req Id 11561 - Posted 12/14/2018 - - - 20-Northeast GA Medical Center - Full Time - United States - GA - Gainesville - 30501 - PERIOP 101 NURSE RESIDENCY PROGRAM AT NORTHEAST GEORGIA MEDICAL CENTER - GAINESVILLE CAMPUS PROGRAM LENGTH The PeriOp 101 Program is a structured comprehensive six-month program for licensed registered nursess with at least one year of acute care hopsital based nursing experience. SCOPE OF PROGRAM The Periop 101 is an all-inclusive educational program developed by the Association of Perioperative Nursing (AORN). This six-month, clinically-based training is designed to prepare registered nurses with no previous perioperative exp for a career in the operating room as entry-level, perioperative nurses. The program combines a standardized, evidence-based online curriculum and textbook readings with hands-on skills labas and clinical practicum. PROGRAM DATES The program has up to two annual cohorts and the number of nurses per cohort are determined by nursing leadership using the RN vacancy rate and consideration of organizational gols. The Winter Cohort begins the first general orientation each February, the Summer Cohort starts the second general orientation in August. The average number of residents accepted annually is 12. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN Preferred) - Current unemcumbered Georgia License as RN - At least one year of acute care hospital based nursing experience - Internal applicants must be eligible to transfer - Applicants must have a strong desire/career goal to work as a RN in the operating room environment - A position in the OR requires the employee to take call and be able to return on site within 30minutes. If the Periop 101 RN remains continuusly employed by the organization in full-time status through and upon the 2yrs anniversary of the effective date, then the PeriOp 101 RN will not be obligated to repay the outstanding amount.
