They work to restore the patients health by following evidence-based nursing practices, exercising independent judgement and managing complex health issues. Nurses provide physical and psychological support to patients and also delegate tasks to ancillary team members. Typical RN duties include identification of care needs and individualized care planning, assessing/monitoring physical parameters, inserting intravenous catheters, monitoring and administering medications/ intravenous infusions all to help optimize the patients recovery to health, ensure high quality care and provide a safe hospital environment. Qualifications Education Background Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. Licensure, Registration, Certification A current Registered Nurse License for the State of Washington is required. Special Training/Skills May vary depending on nursing unit specialty. Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on assigned unit/department. Work Experience Minimum of three months of prior RN experience is required. Physical Abilities Must be able to safely maneuver patients and supplies. Must be able to handle a fluctuating workload. This job quires ability to communicate clearly in English (verbal and written) with all stakeholders (providers, caregivers, patients, family members) for the effective treatment of patients. Physical Demand Level: Heavy In an 8-hour workday, must be able to- Lift / Carry 50 to 100 pounds occasionally 25 to 50 pounds frequently 10 to 20 pounds constantly As required, must be able to - Sit, Stand, Walk, Bend, Squat, Kneel, Crawl, Climb and Reach above shoulders Push and Pull Perform fine motor functions Must possess functional vision, hearing, and speech in order to communicate effectively with clients, client advocates, and staff.
